Our Food & Beverage team strives to bring you the best, most creative, and delicious food and drinks in the greater Houston area. With divine menus from our Executive Chef, and a hand-chosen wine list, you will never want to eat anywhere but the Club!
Executive Chef
Eva Barrios, CEC
Eva comes to us from Austin Country Club, where she spent the past six years as the Executive Sous Chef. Eva has been mentored by multiple Master Chefs while climbing the ranks in her career. She is a current Certified Executive Chef (CEC) by American Culinary Federation (ACF), and has been a member of the ACF since 2004. Eva has won multiple medals and awards in national culinary competitions and has published notable articles for national industry publications. She has served as the Texas Chefs Association’s Certification Chair, and on Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Advisory Committee. During her tenure at Austin Country Club, Eva had a key role in staging and hosting the PGA Tour’s Dell Match Play event from 2016 to present.
Wine & Beverage Director
Eric Blokkum
Growing up in Norway and fluent in Norwegian, Eric is the proud father of two boys. Eric began his career in the Restaurant industry in 2005 with Landry’s Restaurant Group. In 2009 he obtained his Level 1 through the Court of Master Sommeliers and in 2011 he received his Level 2 through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Following, Eric transferred to Vic and Anthony’s and started his career as a Sommelier and became their Assistant Wine Director. With a year as Assistant Wine Director at Vic and Anthony’s, Eric began his tenure with Masraffs, where he maintained an extensive wine list that included high-end, hard-to-find wines. In 2015, he joined the team at River Oaks Country Club. While at River Oaks Country Club Eric was awarded the Wine Program of Distinction through the Club Managers Association of America; placing 1st place in North America. Eric joined Royal Oaks Country Club in June of 2017.
