Our tennis staff includes full-time USPTA Elite Professional teaching pros. The “Elite Professional” level is the highest rating a teaching professional can obtain. Our teaching pros are available year-round for private and group instruction. Here are Royal Oaks Country Club we have Men's, Ladies, Singles and Doubles tournaments, leagues and clinics offered throughout the year for all ages and skill levels.

Tennis Director
Peter Farrell, USPTA Cert. Pro
Originally from Liverpool, England, he made his way to Houston and played tennis at the University of Houston as well as a short stint on the professional tour in the early 1980's. In 1992 at Willow Fork Country Club he grew their tennis program to monumental heights. Peter developed one of the best tennis programs in the Houston area, having produced numerous state and nationally ranked juniors, many going on to receive full scholarships at major colleges. His adult teams and league growth has sustained success year over year and often win their league's championship. Peter was the USTA W.T. Caswell Service Award winner, given for his valuable volunteer contributions to the growth and development of tennis in Texas. Outside of directing one of Houston’s vibrant tennis programs, Peter also directed and led summer camp which comprised over 300 campers. He resides in Katy with his wife Beverly and their dogs. His daughter Kendall lives in London, England and his son Ian lives in Houston.

Nealie Kaplan
Nealie first picked up a racket at the age of 3, quickly excelling in her first competitive tournament action at the age of 9.  While growing up south of Boston, MA her love of both competition and tennis led her to a 54-0 record as the #1 singles player for her high school team.  From there, Nealie began coaching at Weymouth Club, where she learned how to teach the game she loves.    Nealie attended Arizona State University, where she participated on the club tennis team. Currently she captains and competes in the USTA Houston Ladies 4.5 League.   Nealie’s methodology of coaching starts with instilling a passion and respect for the game. She prides herself on developing players by putting a special emphasis on technique, enthusiasm for the sport, and a personalized, caring approach to each player’s needs.
 
Assistant Tennis Professional
Adam Ewing
Adam was born and raised in Houston, Texas and graduated from Stratford High School. He played his College tennis at McMurry University where he earned multiple conferences accolades in singles and doubles and a national doubles ranking. After his College days he coached for a couple of years at his Alma Mater before jumping into teaching at different facilities and academies in San Antonio and Abilene. Adam has worked with numerous UIL State Champions, helped many kids reach their dreams of playing College Tennis, and has been able to travel the world coaching juniors in USTA National tournaments and ITF Tournaments. Adam and Gina, his wife, are excited to come back to his home in Houston and be part of the ROCC family. They met on a tennis court back in 2013 and to this day still "attempt" to play mixed doubles together. They have a 1 year old son, Bryson Xander, that is always on the move.
